Will my child's delayed speech affect our going to Canada?

Our medical exam for Canadian visa was done last Dec 29, 2009. After waiting for 5 years for it Im so worried that we will be denied after the Doctor who did the medical refer us to Developmental Doctor. My son is already 4 years old last Nov 24, 2009 and still not speaking like other children his age. He can only utter very few words & often using sign languages if he wants something. Can the assessment of the Developmental doctor affect our admission to Canada?
