The Parker Ryan Story
by Ryan Ingersoll
(Fremont , MI)
Our son Parker is 4 1/2 and a twin. He was born at 35 weeks at 4lbs 11oz. His brother at 7 lbs 1oz and seemingly normal compared to Parker. We always knew Parker was Special, but as to how special we were shocked for the next 3 years. With no answers from anyone and a ton of occupational therapy it was time for pre school.
At first we had verbal or emotional help but that faded fast. When he went from early daycare to actual school it went from bad to worse. Something that caught everyone's attention was the fact he became good friends and a big help with an Autistic child in his class. Parker has been the only person besides this friends Parents that he communicates with.
After a terrible day at school I began a long research of senory issues and found the Brain Balance Center. We took Parker for an assessment and the results were mind blowing. If not a little numbing. He starts a 3 month therepy session next week to retrain the Right side of his brain to give the Left side some of it's responsibilities back. We have been and will continue to pray about this and for all you Parents and Children out there
