Not able to answer basic questions.

Our son is almost 8 and is in 2nd grade. His class is covering topics such as the start of calculus that I never was taught in school (and I have an MBA). Other than a bit of difficulty in focusing before study, he is doing well in school.
But if you ask him basics: time of day, day of the week, month,how long his class is, what he had for lunch, etc., he can not tell you. Lastly, he hates 'settling down' to do homework, though, once settles he does fine. Only eats the same foods. And would never stop playing Minecraft etc games if he had his way. I am open to any ideas and suggestions that you may have. Thank you!
