My son has been diagnosed with SPD and we were so relieved to finally have the answers to the many puzzles that we have faced in the 7 yrs of his life. The uncontrollable crying and tantrums, the absolute fear of any loud noises, his complete meltdowns when anything in his routine changed and I could go on and on. Instead of getting the help the doctors at childrens hospital recommended, we are hitting brick walls. My medical insurance will not pay anything on occupational therapy and the clinic that was recommended won't take him until he is certified. The school has not given any help as of yet.
