Hi im a 24/7, on duty grandmother and guardian of my beautiful smart lil granddaughter. shes 5yrs old who has autism, non verbal severe sensory processing disorder, severe anxiety, adhd and add.
we have our sensory room in our house and we did it last year in our garage and it is very simple. just contains xmas lights, led lights, a veil in the ceiling, and different types of cloth textures on the wall. there is also a trampoline, sensory swing, tents, exercise ball, mats, lil balls, water and sand table, kinetic sand, ot activities puzzles, kids fiber optic lights etc. we cant afford the bubble lamps and fiber curtain projectors and stuff.
our therapist loved our sensory room and our baby girl is more calm there than any part of the house. i do wanna learn more creative ways to give her sensory therapy there since we do it everyday it feels really nice when she is smiling an happy. it is a great blessing.
