I was born sensory sensitive. I am distracted by mundane things that most people are unaware of such as the swirling noise a breeze creates while bouncing off trees, buildings, people.
I taught myself to pay most attention to the soothing/ calm noises and beeline away from annoying noises avoid meltdowns.
I rely on certain amount of weighted blanket(s) not a regular blanket otherwise i wake up 1000 times a night. I am drawn to cool to touch fabric like goose down quilts. Cuddly material helps me fall asleep and stay asleep. If I do not have adequate amount of weighted blanket (s) when I wake up, I do not know where I am. I feel disoriented. It takes long time to realize Im at home, safe.
Weighted blanket (s) re insure safety and security more than anything. Weighted blanket(s) provide a cocoon type environment protected against outside/inside sensory input. A Restful nights sleep is imperative, otherwise I become depressed, anxiety phobic, hypervigilance driven.
