Intermittent periods of fatigue and slight regression

My son is 5, has SPD, anxiety and mild metabolic disorder. At times he can be so typical and self regulated and then, every 4 wks or so, it seems like he gets really dis regulated, regresses, gets more stuck on play ideas, loud, focus is off. Sometimes this period lasts 1-2weeks. After this period, he usually takes a leap forward, sometimes 2 steps forward, but its frequency is what always throws me for a loop. Does anyone have the same experience?

periodic regression
by: Anonymous

We have experienced periodic regression in a child in my family. Sometimes manifested with various phobias, with refusal of food, excessive fatigue, or other strange behavior, which then return to relative normality. The child in question has PDD-nos . so she has a developmental disorder, which causes problems during its development itself. even if these do not occur in the same way and tend to fade over time. I think this depends on the difficulty of his nervous system affected by the disorder This is my case, I do not know if it useful. greeting
