Help! My son was born at 24 weeks he's now 5 yrs old and is not potty trained

My son was born 3 months early. He's had some delays in the pass such as sitting up on his own walking and talking. He is now 5 yrs old and is in pull UPS and very hard to potty train. I really don't know what else to do. I'm starting to wonder if this comes from him being born so early and having some difficulties after birth? I'm really unsure

My grandson was born at 23 weeks. Had brain bleeds, has a shunt and is SPD. He is 3 yrs 2 mo and we are just starting to potty train now. Nephew was born almost exactly the same gestation and he is in the process of being potty trained. Has taken about a year for him. Are you being very persistent with him? It is a bigger challenge when you have a preemie. Does he have any physical problem perhaps with lack of feeling in lower body that prevents him from getting the feeling of needing to go? Check that out with your doc.

Hi

We had the same problem. Doctors could find no reason for it. What worked for us was cutting out ALL of the 50 most common additives. Find the list here:

I am sorry that he is not potty trained yet. You did not say how he's doing with everything else. My daughter was born at 24 months - 42 years ago. The only thing I noticed about her was that she did everything approx 3 months later than most babies. There maybe something more going on with your child
