Limit Gluten
by: Jennifer

Do you all know if limiting glutens would help at all? We can't go completely gluten free since my daughter has to eat the snacks/lunch provided by the school.
Thanks!

For a couple good cookbooks, I use: "Paleo Comfort Foods: Homestyle Cooking for a Gluten-Free Kitchen", "Everyday Paleo", and the "The Paleo Solution". These are all completely grain-free. However, there are a ton of gluten free books at the bookstore!! Good luck.

Gluten free diet
by: K.B.

I am a 50 year old adult woman who has had sensory issues since elementary school (probably before that) and has been on medication for ADHD for many years. One year ago I eliminated all grains (not just gluten) and have now been successfully off of the ADHD meds for 9 months. It made a huge difference. Sometimes I toy with putting other grains back into my diet and just keeping out the gluten containing ones, but since things are going so well, I am afraid to do so. Other people, including family and those I work with, have noticed that I am so much calmer and can tolerate so much more. I also am able to tolerate clothing and fabrics that I never could stand before. I don't take off jewelry halfway through the day any more, either.

It can't hurt to try it. If you do, give it a good month, because I hear from other sources that it can take that long to really be beneficial. I'm sorry that I can't remember exactly how long I did it before I saw improvement. I'm just sorry I didn't do it sooner.

Gluten Free Diet
by: Anonymous

Our daughter with SPD has been gluten free for about a year and a half. It hasn't been a cure-all but has helped significantly.
It's a great time to be gluten free as there are lots of gluten free products available (and lots of info online).
Best of luck to you!
