Frustrated

I too thought my child had sensory disorder till I had had enough of paying out hundreds of dollars for peadiatricians and test etc, I was told some weird and wonderful explanations for my daughters behaviour till I went to a completely new doctor and explained my daughters symptoms and he tested her for coeliacs disease which returned positive, since then she has been on a gluten free diet and the change is remarkable, I finally have my little girl back.

Gluten free diet
by: Frustrated

Hi JH, If you are going through what we have been going through for the last few years you will be just about ready to tear your hair out. At first my daughters symptoms were not wanting to wear jeans, socks, certain undies, t-shirts,stockings or tights, then she started getting angry all of a sudden over nothing after she had eaten. She also used to just snack all the time but never actually sit down to a meal, she then took herself off white bread, milk and a few other things.she got so bad that she used to scream in the mornings when I was putting her school uniform on because it was so difficult for her, she also used to sit on the toilet for ages.

When her blood results came back as positive for Celiacs we thought at least we may over come what is happening but then when she went for the biopsy it came back negative for celiacs, so since then she is now having test for Fructose and Lactose intolerance which would explain why she changed so much on the celiacs diet as the doctor says it may be an allergy to a certain food reacting with her body.I could go on for ever about all her symptoms including allergies such as hayfever as she lives on Zyrtec, but the main thing is that you get your daughter the blood test and do not change her diet to gluten free until she has been tested as it will effect the blood test.
Hope thi helps!

very frustrating

I am so happy you and your family were able to find a doctor who was smart enough to test for that from the start. I honestly believe doctors should be responsible for the bills that come from wrong diagnoses ... if you get a steak and it's wrong you get to send it back if it comes back still wrong or worse it gets taken off the bill... it should be the same with health care!!!! try to call your previous doctors and see what they are willing to do, also call your health insurance...but none of that can take away the pain, frustration, and lost happy time with your daughter! I am so sorry it had to be such a twisty bumpy road for a simple solution!

good luck!!!
