My son who is 8 who suffers a mild form of RLS still has the need to chew things. He is no longer chewing his clothes which is an improvement as I have supplied him with a stash of chewing aids and putty to play with. Is this something he will outgrow? Otherwise he is a happy well adjusted boy with no problems socially nor has problems with motor skills and is sporty. Perhaps his chewing allows him to cope with his RLS which flares up from time to time.
