5 year wont eat much

My step daughter is 5 and I have been her mom for 2 years now. The past couple months she has started taking a few bites and then says she is going to get sick....and does most of the time....she doesnt do it all the time she will do it for a few days then eats good for a few days...some people have told me its a nervous problem...but I dnt understand why she would be nervous when she in her own house eating with family....I haven't brought her to her doctor yet but if it continues I think im going to have to....if anyone has any advice please help! Thanks in advance!
