My 7 yr old son sticks his fingers in his mouth in order to make himself vomit. He is a non-verbal Autistic. He has done this off and on for years. He would gag himself usually in his room. For some reason, he knows enough to throw up in sink or bathtub now. He will not do it in front of anyone. So basically, I have to keep a close eye on him. He will gag himself maybe 1-2 times a week, or not for months. On Waiting list for a behaviorist to get involved. In the meantime, any ideas on how to get him to stop ? He also bites his hand when upset, sometimes spits to play with it, throws up when he touches play-dough, likes/ dislikes certain textures ,etc, so he has issues . School scaled back his O/T time. He also gets speech therapy. He has never been "diagnosed" with sensory processing disorder, but its pretty obvious he has sensory issues. Any help or advice is appreciated.
