Since my son's SPD diagnosis, our lives have changed. We now work with an OT and he's such a happier and better managed child. He has NO OTHER diagnosis and the OT FIRMLY believes that he is a child with a sole problem, SPD. The problem we have is that since it is not recognized in the DSM-IV, we're not going to be able to get services for him once he "ages out" of Early Intervention. Things need to change - soon. Children and families will suffer without this being recognized and widely accepted as a real dysfunction!
