White noise

our daughter....without knowing....has created her own sensory room without knowing why. She prefers her door shut tight, a small Christmas tree with 20 lights on it every night. A humidifier on...without the water...for the white noise.

Since homework has become a problem with an energetic 10 yr old brother, her liaison suggested making a homework space for her in her closet. Since her closet is pretty big, we will put lighting and floor pillows in it for her to do her homework without breaking down. We've been gifted with the know-how to help her and it only comes from paying attention to what breaks her down and trying to create the opposite. We are amazed when we read articles such as these AFTER we've already done what we thought would help. THIS is why she is OUR daughter and not somebody else's without the same intuition.
