My son who was diagnosed with SPD 6 months ago is a very picky eater and getting him to sit at the table to enjoy a meal is a battle every day.
One day I told him that a car needs gas to make it go just like you need food to make you go. He seemed to like that analogy and he started to finish his meal.
A few days later we were eating breakfast and he eagerly ate all of his cereal and said with a big smile on his face, "Mommy, I am full of gas."
