spd is related to the neurological system. given that, children who have spd are wired that way, they do not outgrow it.
but with much guidance, patience and implementation of tools to help them, they can learn to cope effectively with the things that are 'triggers'.
my son (now 6) has benefited greatly from working with an occupational therapist. if you have concerns of if behaviors are interfering with daily living, start now in your quest for tools and resources. :)
